The good news is that eyelash extensions don’t need much of maintenance. You just have to remember a few things that are not very complicated. Here they are.

1. Sleep on the Back for the First 48 Hours

Unless you are already in a habit of sleeping on your back, you may find it difficult to sleep on your back.

However, it’s really important for prolonging the life of your lash extensions from Fancy Lash, for example, especially right after your procedure.

This is because the lash glue takes a while to dry completely; otherwise you can get odd kinks.

But you have to sleep on your back for just a night or two, ideally first 48 hours. After that, you can resume your regular sleeping position if it’s not sleeping on your back.

2. Avoid Water and Steam

Just as you’ll take care of sleeping on your back to let the lash glue set completely, take care of avoiding water and steam for the first 48 hours.

While the glue is setting, if your lashes come in the contact with water or steam, they will fall out ahead of time.

You can take a shower, but avoid putting your head under the water. Also never rub your eyes. This will prolong the life your lash extensions.

3. Take Care while Removing Makeup

When after a day, you’ll remove your eye makeup (shadow, liner etc.) do not place cotton puffs or pads over your eyelids.

Otherwise, not only will you weaken the extensions before time and mess them up, but also, cotton fibres will get stuck to lashes.

Instead go over the area very gently with a cleansing wipe.

4. Oil Them

You’d like it if your lash extensions will stay dry. However, the fact is that products like the classic lash extensions available at Fancy Lashstay longer and nicer if you oil them up. Oiling keeps them flexible.

You just have to rub a droplet of baby oil on them with your fingers.

5. Comb Them

Lash extensions might get crisscrossed and look wonky. To avoid this, comb them with a spoolie wand.

Shut one eye. Now place the wand on the top of your lashes and slowly roll the brush over them so that they will become defined.

6. Avoid Playing with Them

Your own eyelashes shed naturally. When you wear extensions, the natural shedding will help push them off.

Avoid playing with an extension that is looking out of place. Don’t pull it off or twist it because your natural lashes may be lost due to these activities.

Allow them to come out by themselves and in the meantime, brush them back with a spoolie.

Regardless of how careful you are with your lash extensions, they will come off over time because of the growth cycle of your natural lashes.

To avoid this and make them last longer, visit the salon every 2-3 weeks for an infill.

So, are you now feeling confident that you can maintain your lash extensions for longer?
