How The HCG Diet Was Originally Prepared

A key part of the HCG diet when it was first developed was to take a look at the right dietary restrictions that should be used to keep the body on a regimen of 500 calories a day during the maintenance phase of the diet. The diet can still work with the same standards that were originally drafted years ago by Dr. ATW Simeons. The diet uses a series of restrictions that are used to ensure that a person uses only the right healthy foods.

HCG Diet ProgramThis diet uses 500 calories in a day and involves three simple meals. These are to be used alongside the HCG drops that the body needs to help with releasing old fats so they can be naturally burned off.

The first part of the HCG diet involves a healthy breakfast. This includes the use of tea or coffee. This can be used without sugar. A sugar substitute like stevia may be used. A person can also consume water. In fact, it is best to get about two liters of water in one’s diet each day. Water is good enough to help with keeping the body filled and hydrated.

The lunch and dinner are the second and third parts of the HCG diet. These two meals can include one of many different options for healthy eating. First, meat can be used provided that it is used responsibly in the diet.

Meat in the HCG diet can include 100 grams of a grilled or boiled meat. This includes meat that has been trimmed to get the fats removed from it. Lean beef, veal or chicken breast that has had its skin removed and was also removed from the chicken itself can be used. Crab meat or lobster meat may also work.

Not all meats are good for the diet. Salmon, tuna and herring are meats that should be avoided during the diet.

A vegetable may also be used for lunch or dinner. A vegetable can include natural fiber and plenty of nutrients. Some of the choices to use include spinach, celery, tomatoes, onions and cucumbers. The key is to keep them prepared well without any additional fats or sugars in the process.

Some fruits may also work. The fruit options for the HCG diet are rather restricted though. This is due to some fruits have a strong amount of natural sugars or fats. It’s best to stick with an orange or an apple at this point.

The final option for lunch or dinner is a healthy grain-based meal. This can include a slice of Melba toast.

These standards were used by Dr. Simeons in the original HCG diet but they can still be used by anyone who wants to lose weight. The HCG diet used here can help anyone out with losing weight as quickly as possible. It keeps the body from going over the 500 calorie limit that it can handle each day.
